Lonely Whale

I collaborated with Lonely Whale, a leading campaign and organisation fighting for the oceans and raising awareness around plastic pollution. Lonely Whale asked me to create a collection of branded GIFs as part of a collaborative piece (Lonely Whale x Tolly Dolly Posh) for use across social media. The GIFs were to be useful and for people to champion small, environmental changes. Lonely Whale has 135k followers on Instagram. You can find the collection on GIPHY, here.

The process for GIF creation includes mood board creation, a set of rough draft sketches, a broader selection of working ideas and the final collection, all with changes and adjustments included.


I connected with Tolly after using her plastic-free GIFs in our Instagram Stories to help visually communicate and engage with our audience. So, when I was looking to create Lonely Whale’s first-ever GIF collection I knew I had to reach out to Tolly! Together we collaborated on concepts that not only highlighted our campaign For A Strawless Ocean but also GIFs that provide our audience a sense of belonging and a way to share their ocean impact.

Working with Tolly was both professional and truly collaborative and the GIFs she created truly embody our brand! We are so excited about our Lonely Whale x Tolly Dolly Posh GIFs and how we can leverage them to inspire our audience to create further positive change for our ocean.
